1 Write a thank you note
Handwritten notes are something of a lost art, which is one reason they’re so magnificent to give to someone. Whether it comes from you or from your child, a handwritten note is a powerful thing to give to your child’s coach. Be sure to be specific about what you appreciate about them! Genuine, positive feedback can makes someone’s day a whole lot brighter.
2 Let their boss know
Your child’s coach answers to someone, and nothing is better than someone telling the folks in charge that you’re awesome! Whether you drop them an emai,l or give them a phone call, this is one of the best things that you can do for your child’s coach. No matter what time of year it is, it’s always a good time to give a good review.
3 Give them a little something at the end of the season
It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it does need to be well thought out. Find out what their favourite coffee shop is and give them a gift certificate. Maybe it’s a new clipboard if you’ve noticed that theirs is falling apart, or an umbrella for rainy days on the field. Even something as simple as a bag of Epsom salts for those sore muscles is greatly appreciated!
4 Remember them on their birthday
Find out when their birthday is and remember them! If it’s not during the season, drop a card in the mail to let them know how much you and your child thought of their efforts. If it is during the season, why not arrange a surprise get together with the team? Bake them a cake, grab some party hats, and sing a song.
