About Us

Ginger Sport is a kids’ soccer-coaching business established in 2009.

We are the experts in our niche, and we are serious about making soccer fun for kids!

We deliver weekly soccer sessions to small groups of children in parks and childcare centres.

We also deliver birthday parties and events.

We deliver our special brand of soccer fun to kids across SEQ, seven days a week.

We coach in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Redlands, and Toowoomba.

Essential Skills

Essential Requirements

  • LICENCE & CAR: You will need a Qld Driver License & access to your own vehicle at all times (i.e. minimum requirement is a Provisional C-class licence).
  • BLUE CARD: You must have, or be able to obtain, a Blue Card (for working with children and young people in Qld). If you don’t already have one, you can apply for a Blue Card immediately if we offer you employment.
  • CONSISTENT AVAILABILITY: You must be available on a consistent, weekly basis.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Consistent, positive attitude, with enthusiasm and energy for coaching young children.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, customers, and colleagues.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
  • Customer-service focused and great with people.
  • Able to actively role model Ginger Sport’s values of integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.

Highly Regarded Requirements

  • Completion of FFA’s free MiniRoos Program Leader course.
  • First-aid certification.
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Gmail, and Google Docs.

Highly Regarded Skills and Attributes

  • Experience in sports coaching.
  • Experience working with young children.

What To Expect

Here’s what to expect when you work as a Ginger Sport coach. You will:

  • run to a tight schedule, delivering several high-quality and high-energy sessions throughout the day, often back to back.
  • build strong and meaningful relationships with educators and parents.

  • travel to several locations within a day, with varying start times and locations.
  • work in different outdoor environments, such as parks and childcare centres.

  • Coach social days, organised on an ad-hoc basis, for anyone who loves that social side of work.
  • A fully functional administrative team and systems in place to support the back end of operations and support you in your coaching and administrative duties.

Remuneration

Our coaches are paid in line with the relevant state award.

  • Up to $26.93 per hour, as per the relevant award based on your age.
  • Superannuation.
  • Generous travel allowance per kilometre between sessions, based on the legislated rate.

In addition, coaches who meet performance targets have the opportunity to progress above the award.
