How do you inspire kids to a lifelong of sport?

Drawing from my experience as an Umpire and Umpire Assistant Coach, I inspire kids to embrace a lifelong love for sports by making activities fun and emphasizing teamwork. As a positive role model, I showcase the enjoyment of sports and encourage good sportsmanship. By creating engaging and enjoyable experiences, I instill in them the passion and enthusiasm that can lead to a lifelong commitment to staying active and engaged in sports.

If you could be any superhero who would you be and why?

I’d choose Batman because he’s just a regular person, no superpowers, but he never gives up. He’s smart, strong, and uses his skills to help others. Batman shows that even without special abilities, you can make a difference if you’re determined and brave. Plus, his gadgets are a bonus.

What is your best childhood memory of playing sport?

Winning my first AFL game at the Broadbeach Cats is my childhood memory of playing sports. The excitement of the game, and the enjoyment of winning made it stick out as an unforgettable experience.

What’s the first job you dreamed of having as a kid?

When I was a kid, I always dreamed of becoming a crane driver. The idea of operating those massive machines and moving heavy loads around was really cool to me. I use to love playing with my crane toys so much that I wanted to drive the real thing.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?

When I’m not working, I’m all about sports and staying active. If it’s playing a game of basketball with friends, going for a run, or some backyard cricket, I love to just stay active and stay outside. Fitness and Sports have always been my best way to unwind and relax in my free time.

Which Sporting Icon did you always impersonate in the backyard and why?

In the backyard I would always pretend to be Gary Ablett Jnr, I loved him so much that I would even wear a bald cap to try and look like him even more. He was such an icon growing up for me on the Gold Coast and I did everything I could to try and be like him.

Why do you enjoy working with children?

I love working with kids because they are always excited to play games or do something active. Its so enjoyable to help them develop while having a good time in the playground, and being able to have the same amount of fun with them is such a great experience.

Please outline your football/soccer experience and background

I was involved in similar soccer programs to Ginger sport when I was a kid but I never went on to play soccer for a club. I have a basic to good knowledge of soccer and know the basics of playing and some tricks.
