Ginger Sport makes soccer fun for kids!

We offer our fun soccer program at childcare centres every week.

We love coaching the kids as much as they love us!

Soccer with us is positive and nurturing, in a safe environment for your little one.

It’s a great sport for kids to start out with.

It teaches coordination and teamwork with an energetic and positive vibe.

Our hand-picked coaches are experts in the early-childhood space.

Your child will be inspired to be active and healthy just like their much-loved coach.

Your soccer star will love playing soccer-themed games based on the characters and shows they know and love.

And they’ll beam with pride when they get their very own Ginger Sport medal of achievement twice a year!

Our Childcare Program starts again from the week beginning Monday 13 July.

Some locations will start earlier for people who had already paid in advance prior to COVID-19 restrictions.

We will be contacting all of those families who have paid in advance. We’ll give you information about any session dates and times that may be on offer at your centre before our general 13 July resumption of sessions.

If you had paid for more sessions than we have on offer prior to 13 July, we will create a voucher you can use to access more sessions when we advise of the re-registration process for sessions from Monday 13 July onwards.

If we haven’t sent you an email, then your payments are up to date.

We will contact you with more information regarding re-registering for our sessions that recommence from Monday 13 July onwards.

If you want your child to take part prior to Monday 13 July, please send an email to info@gingersport.com

If you weren’t already paid in advance, we will send you a separate invoice for the session dates you attend that occur prior to Monday 13 July.

If you are unsure what date your centre is resuming sessions, please contact your Centre Director for more information or send an email to info@gingersport.com.au and we can provide you with further information if we have any information to share.

Our phone services have been inactive since Covid-19 and we will resume phone service from Tuesday 23 June.

Before you leave home

On soccer day, remember to dress your child in clothes and shoes that they can run around in.

These are probably the same clothes they wear to childcare most days, but just make sure your little one has suitable footwear, a broad-brimmed hat, and sunscreen applied before you leave home.

Remind them of the rule “no hat, no play”, and to be kind and polite with their team mates.

Kids don’t need to wear a uniform. But we know that lots of kids love to wear the Ginger Sport soccer kit which you can buy in our online shop.

Kit your little star up

Water & snacks

You don’t need to send additional snacks on soccer day.

The children have a water break during the session, and the coach—along with the staff—will make sure they bring their water bottle to the soccer area.

At session time

When it’s time for your little one’s soccer session, the coach will arrive and the staff will bring the children out to the soccer area, or perhaps the coach will come in and fetch the children.

Either way, the children who will be playing soccer that day are mobilised for their session in an organised manner when it’s time to play.

Supervision info

In addition to your Ginger Sport coach there may also be centre staff supervising. Please check with your centre to learn more about what happens on soccer days.

Feedback for parents

Parents are often keen to hear how their little one has been doing at childcare soccer.

If you would like to know how your little one is going in the session you are most welcome to contact us. We will contact the coach to find out and let you know.

Blue Cards

All Ginger Sport coaches hold blue cards.

What if the other kids get jealous?

We generally find that it’s a case of out of sight, out of mind. That is, the soccer session is held away from the children who are not participating, and it’s just a normal part of the day for some kids, but not others. Of course, if you felt there was an issue you can talk to your centre staff to address any concerns.

Accidents happen

If any of the little ones get a bump or scratch we know what to do. All centres have incident reporting procedures. Ginger Sport coaches also follow incident reporting procedures.

Session length

Sessions in the childcare program are 30 minutes.

Session numbers

The number of children who can participate in each Ginger Sport childcare session is capped at 12.

This means that every child has the opportunity for a great experience and individual attention.

Coach changes

Like all of us, children get used to the status quo and tend to develop strong bonds with their coaches. From time to time a coach will be unable to attend, or may move on permanently. Whilst we do our utmost to minimise these changes, sometimes it is unavoidable. Some children may go through a mini kind of grief at losing a loved coach. We do understand these feelings, but also know that we don’t take these changes lightly. If your children do receive a new coach, we are confident that they will come to love them just as much as the old one!

Free trials

If your child would like to try soccer at their centre, let your centre staff know.

The staff will ask our coach to include your child in a session.

If they enjoy it, register online, pay, and you’re ready to play.

What happens if my child misses a session?

If your child misses a session, complete a Book a Makeup Request form here to book into one of our weekly, fun soccer sessions. Submit your request at least 24 hours before the makeup session you would like to attend.

Make sure you take your make-up session by Week 1 of the next term.

If your centre cancels a session due to weather conditions, we will organise a makeup session at your centre. If we can’t offer you a makeup session, we may offer you a credit voucher towards next term’s fees.

If we cancel a session for reasons other than weather conditions, we will organise a makeup session at your centre. If we can’t offer you a makeup session, we may offer you a credit voucher towards next term’s fees or a refund.
